I rarely write bad reviews, but I was extremely disappointed in the product I received. It did not look like the samples in the listing and the stitching was sloppy and the letters ran into each other. I wouldn’t be so upset except for the fact that the seller made no effort to remedy the situation and offered no return or exchange. This was a gift for a relative and I wasn’t able to give it to her.

Embracing the technological advances of modern sewing and embroidery

I've been sewing for many years. I started with simple quilt blocks and tote bags. I enjoyed the ways I could manipulate squares and triangles into pleasing pictures using different colors. Once I was confident in stitching those straight lines, I moved into more complex patterns, such as clothing. Again, I was wonderstruck at the process of taking one dimensional fabric and building a three dimensional garment.

As I settled into my life as a mom, my time became increasingly more precious. Sewing one of a kind outfits for the kids became less important as my daughter became more interested in what was available in stores. At the same time, I was developing an embroidery business which helped to supplement our family income. I quickly learned that my embroidery machine made quick work of personalizing gifts, and my little business flourished.

Over the years, designers have learned the ins and outs of embroidery machines, creating projects that sew a finished piece all in the hoop. I've tapped into the talent of these designers, using their patterns as a canvas where I can again play with color.

How do I provide my monogram?

There are two basic styles of monograms. One style has a larger center initial, the other has initials in all the same size.

If the style you're ordering has a larger center initial, that initial is traditionally the last name. For Jennifer Fletcher Schildt, please submit your initials as jSf for clarity.

If the monogram style you're ordering has initials all the same size, they are stitched in their natural order. For Jennifer Fletcher Schildt, please submit as jfS.

It is most clear for me if you only capitalize the LAST NAME when submitting your initials. Don't worry, though. If the order of your initials is ever unclear, I will reach out to you through Etsy conversation for confirmation before I stitch your order.
